Koekeittiö members Eeva Rönkä and Jani Anders Purhonen are collaborating with artist Astri Laitinen for an ambient tea ceremony. Putkikasvit ("pipe plants") is an unofficial name for a plant family called Apiaceae. Mostly, it refers to those Apiaceae whose names end in "putki" or that look roughly pipelike.
For our tea, we blended neighboring meadow plants siankärsämö (yarrow), jalominttu (gingermint) and peltopähkämö (marsh woundwort), while the performance instrumentation comprised of several pipes such as karhunputki (angelica), lipstikka (lovage) and nukula (motherwort).
